First Lady Christine M.S. Calvo is one of Guam’s most vocal advocates for foster children.  She’s been working tirelessly with government agencies and non-profit organization to establish a cohesive network of caring Guamanians ready to support a child in need at any time.  The First Lady has seen firsthand the struggles of a child who is new to the foster care system and she understands the many issues and constraints that even government services encounter.

This is the driving force behind her foster care initiatives:  build a fast-working network of foster care services, encourage more families to open their homes to a child in need and raise community awareness about ways to “Help Change a Lifetime!”

Let one of Guam’s very own foster moms, Ms. Shirley Perez, encourage you to consider becoming a foster parent!
